Default Factions Challenge Missions--Idea(s) for improvement

Okay.

I just got to Aurios mines, and to Amatz Basin. I have also played the other three.


These need to have more rewards and incentives. A LOT more. Here are some things I thought up:

a. First of all, the reward formula needs to be buffed by a lot. The reward system is EXTREMELY low and unforgiving. I have never done this with other players, but still, I should at least be able to make some way with henchies. And at aurios and amatz, there are no one but henchies. It is a WASTE OF TIME currently.

b. A special reward only dropped in these missions would be an enormous attraction. Could benefit you in any way, maybe having a special collector give a reward to you if you collect X challenge items. The reward would be a. a skill(like sunspear signet or lightbringer gaze), b. a cool weapon (with cool skin), or c. used for getting money or faction

c. Titles? Could also attract people. Maybe higher levels of the titles would strengthen the skill you get if getting a skill from here is a good idea.

I'll also add this: Feel free to add your own suggestion as to how these missions need to be buffed. My ideas are serious, but are also there to stir up other readers' minds.

well, i would say yes i agree, but factions pve has been mostly forgot. i dont do these challenge missions but maybe i would with more reward. this is not something im willing to take a stand for but meh /sign

I have treid Amatz Basin several times... without a group is it nearly impossilbe to get a decent record. And as the outpost is nearly always deserted, there is little point in it existing atm.

My highest score so far was rewarded with an amazing 140-ish faction and a whopping 30 gold pieces.

I definitely think that these challenge mission areas have alot of potential, just look at the NF challenge missions, they have the hero armor rewards. I like the idea of some unique skinned weapons for these areas.

Dragon's Throat could have a bunch of weapons for every class, all with the +5 energy inscription
Altrumm Ruins could have the 15^50 inscription
And the ending challenges (Amatz Basin and Aurios Mines) could have emtpy inscription slots.

The collectors would collect a rather large number (about 15 or so) of a randomly spawned item that would appear in your inventory (like the armors do in NF). And maybe put a per character limit on these drops to prevent them for being over-farmed.

Yea these definetly need somthing to bring people back i think some kind of title yould be easy enough to add (or just giving a half decent reward)

My guess is they can easily add a collector item and a corresponding collector for each. Make it like nightfall, or something. Perhaps an unlock for heroes in cantha (now that would def be amatz/aurios only, and be mad hard, like 15 collector item, and not unlockable by balth).

What about...?

Reward of Dragon's Throat:
- 5% of one player getting 1 amulet of mists each time a boss is killed, starting from the tenth.
- Imperial Commendations received randomly in relatively high amounts to players each time a boss is killed. Starting from the third boss.

Altrum Ruins:
Amber received randomly in small amounts when a boss is killed.
Something like 20% chances that a players get a piece.
So it would be 20/[party members] of you getting one piece each time a boss is killed.

Amantz Basin:
- Increase Kurzick Faction Rewards.
- Equipment Requisition received randomly in relatively high amounts to players each time a refugee is saved. Starting from the fith.

Zos Shivros Channel
- Increase Kurzick Faction Rewards.
- Luxon totem received randomly in relatively high amounts to players each time a wave is wiped.

The Aurios Mines: Jade.
Received randomly in small amounts when a Shadow of Kanaxai. Starting from the second Shadow.
Somethin like 20% chances that a players get a piece.
So it would be 20%/[party members] of you getting one piece each time a Shadow of Kanaxai is killed, starting from the fourth.

a title was suggested in sardelac, people liked the idea

As far as monetary rewards instead... I think they should be quintupled. I myself would still view it as a waste of time, but others might not.

Although I like this, I would rather see something unique to to only Factions challenge missions. But don't get me wrong, I really like this, a lot. perhaps this+a special challenge only thing.

I would say the Amantz Basin should be every 3 refugee's as there is about 5 coming from each direction(the north,east and the west).

Bumping, I do NOT want to see this die. This can be a great feature.

Imho I would like to see these give a reward on the lines of Sunspear Rebirth Signet or Lightbringer's Gaze.

omg kirby! excellent idea!

PvE only skills tied to each challenge.

Like for Dragon's Throat you could have a skill that kinda resmebles the afflicted soul explosion (a watered down no-attribute version of death nova, with no poison)

For Altruum Ruins it could be some kind of kurzick related skill.... idk maybe something like

Spirit of The Forest: For 20 seconds you are immune to the effects of bleeding. Enchantment No-Attribute (5e 1cast 45r)

For Amatz Basin maybe that really cool skill we all know and love, Juggernaut Toss.

I don't know the luxon challenge missions... but it would be along the same lines, with something akin to the turtle siege (uber nuke) for Aurios Mines.

What would be awesome if that you got skills that could be used in PvE, FA/JQ, and AB. Now THAT would rock. After all, PvP characters are way more superior to PvE chars right off the bat, so I think we should get some love in order to balance it out.

Dragon's Throat: Could be something that would have bonus damage vs. Afflicted? Or any of Shiro's minions? Also, for each rank, more damage+more foes. Like lightbringers. This would be PvE only.

Altrumm Ruins: Kurzick's Spirit: could be like you describe, or [condition(s)] will last x% shorter. For each rank, the duration is slightly higher and the percentage is slightly higher.

Amatz Basin: Juggernaut's Strength: Toned down Juggernaut's Toss. For each rank, kd could be increased by .1sec and damage increased by a bit.

Zos Shivros Channel: Luxon's Spirit: For x seconds, [different condition(s)] last y% shorter. For each rank, the duration is slightly higher and the percentage is slightly higher.

Aurios Mines: Turtle's Fury: Could be like a jade shot that splinters or anything here.

Hm... I don't think a title per challenge would be agood idea... titles should work in wider ranges... at least a whole ara, like Echovald, The Jade Sea, Maguuma, etc... and not being many, but th same for all...

We're not really getting a title, just an ability, and their could be challenge-ranks.

Oh, and this isn't about nightfall. Nightfall is already too good enough and gets a fairly decent reward from their challenge missions.

Anything to encourage play in these areas.

I've only played them to get my map completed.

More rewards, like the skill suggestions, would be great.
